Sleeping Beauty Animation

I have just been sitting and staring at this for the longest time. I mean, LOOK AT IT. Look how outstanding this animation is. All by hand. The way her hair moves, the way the lines in that skirt move, everything is perfect. It’s hypnotizing.

[HEAVY WHEEZING]
FLUID ANIMATION

“The girl, because she was so hard to draw, really, the line density and all that stuff, that they could only do, if they were really lucky, maybe eight drawings a day. (*Chuckles*) Eight drawings a day. That’s one drawing, one girl an hour, but 24 frames go by your eye in a second. So you need three days to make one second."
— Don Bluth (on the making of “Sequence 8”)

man, I love animation. Like, seriously.
